p i c t u r e s q u e Roanoke Island along the quaint Manteo Waterfront, the Outer Banks Sailing Academy, LLC offers professional sailing instruction utilizing the proven standards of the American Sailing Association.

Our unique setting makes learning fun and easy. Our classrooms are in the Roanoke Island Maritime Museum so while you learn about modern sailing techniques you’re completely immersed in the world of traditional sailing, square-riggers, and nautical history. While you’re here in class take time to get to know the other queen of our show, the Elizabeth II, an accurate representative boat, a step back into the 16th century. When you come to school why not bring your family, we have something for everyone, a spectacular youth sailing program, a challenging teen program utilizing the Olympic Class 420s, and of course a plethora of adult programs for sailors of all levels. For the non-sailors in your group the area boasts world class beaches, museums and galleries, shopping not to be bested anywhere, and a full range of wonderful restaurants. Why... come for a class and stay a week. How can you beat that? We don’t give away the coveted ASA certifications we offer, but they are fun, interactive, challenging , and very rewarding.
